The Congressional Progressive Caucus

Progressive Caucus

In 1991, Bernie Sanders, self-proclaimed socialist, then Representative and now Senator of Vermont, founded the Progressive Caucus. There are currently eighty-three members of the Progressive Caucus, all socialist Democrats, except Sanders, who now claims to be an Independent.

From 1991 until 1999, the group worked openly with the Democratic Socialists of America. While the Progressive Caucus members may have slithered away from their direct Socialists ties, their philosophical ideals speak for themselves with each vote cast. These progressives  often represent gerrymandered districts without opposition so that their re-election is guaranteed. The official Progressive Caucus Web site aligns itself with some of the most in-your-face, mean-spirited and downright dangerous, far-left organizations in our country today.  MoveOn.org, for example, is one of their listed "links & resources."

For those that value freedom and the sanctity of our nation’s constitution, this is a group to watch closely in the voting arena, as well as in back-room negotiations.
